PDW-U2 drives where I used the older 5.0.6 XDCAM drive software on HP Z4G5, windows 22H2, work perfectly fine. Using older driver versions does not help and downgrading the firmware is not allowed by the XDCAM drive utility. So I conclude the drive is not 'technically bricked' but its ability in combination with the 6.4.0 driver to mount the 'virtual' xdcam volume and folder structure that is being used by the Nablet plugin and Media composer is now broken. If I remove the XDCAM drive software the drives do mount but only showing the 2 folders named General and ProAV. The firmware upgrade completed normally but since the upgrade windows 10 22H2 is not able the mount the disks and produces an error saying it has no access. After install the xdcam utility immedialty popped up a message requesting to upgrade the PDW-U2 drive's frimware from 2.880 to 3.500 which unfortunately I did on 2 drives. as part of a gradual upgrade to the Mediacentral production LTM 2024.x + Media composer 2024.x versions in 2024 I also downloaded and installed Sony's latest XDCAM drive software 6.4.0.
